Title: Interim Management Accountant

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000

Location: Hull

OVERVIEW:

Do you have the availability for a 6 months interim contract? Are you a qualified/part qualified Management Accountant? If you enjoy working with a group of dedicated finance professionals and can work to deadline this may be the opportunity for you. A permanent role may be available for the right candidate.

THE ROLE:

Assisting the Head of Management Accounts & Research you will help to meet the operational needs by ensuring the financial planning is met and will monitor the financial control procedures

To assist with the production of financial information including monthly management accounts and year end results

Support the delivery and implementation of new initiatives and assist with the delivery of the budgeting and forecasting processes, as well as supporting the provision of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial information

Maintenance of the financial ledgers, activity accounts and cost centres to support both management and financial accounting

Prepare and process journals (incl. accruals, prepayments, deferred income etc.), prepare cash reporting, incorporating forecasting information provided by the Finance Business Partnering Team

Prepare actual data to support the Finance Business Partnering Team with their planning, budgeting and forecasting processes, prepare monthly management accounts, with variances to forecast/budget, approve expenditure against budgets, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.

Salary Forecasting - update of Actuals.

THE CANDIDATE:

Ideally you will be a qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA accountant, however partially qualified candidates will also be considered for this interim role. Previous experience of preparing management accounts and working as part of a busy team is however essential

Meeting deadlines in a fast paced environment is an integral part of the role, as is the ability to liaise effectively across not only the wider finance team but across other departments. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are important including the ability to explain finance to non finance staff
You need to have the ability to undertake the contract for approximately six months although this may be extended and may indeed become a permanent appointment for the right candidate

Based in the north Hull area there are good public transport links close by and low cost car parking is available. The location is easily accessible from the wider Hull and East Riding area including the Humber Bridge, Beverley and eastern end of the M62.
