An opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Assistant to join a growing company in Doncaster. You will be responsible for making sure business maintains adequate supply of necessary materials, negotiating best prices and manage overall inventory. The ideal person will be highly organised, a team player and have previous experience working in a purchasing/supply chain position. Working Monday to Thursday 8-5 with an early finish on Friday at 2:30pm, company pension and onsite canteen.

Salary:          Circa £19,000 +

OVERVIEW:

You will be responsible for making sure business maintains adequate supply of necessary materials, negotiating best prices and manage overall inventory. The ideal person will be highly organised, a team player and have previous experience working in a purchasing/supply chain position. THE ROLE

-          Maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate prices

-          Operate as a key member of the Purchasing Team

-          Keeps up to date on the company’s needs, so to order supplies when necessary

-          Performs comparison and negotiations to secure lower prices on materials

-          Prepares reports and communicates with management about offered prices on products to obtain final approval for purchases

-          Negotiates faster than usual delivery of items

-          Assess purchasing requirements check stocks and raise purchase orders

-          Stock and inventory control

 

THE CANDIDATE

-          Experience of purchasing/supply chain (at least 3 years)

-          Enjoys working in a team environment

-          Highly organised

-          Excellent negotiation and communication skills

-          Must be self-motivated and able to work under pressure

-          Be pro-active in monitoring supply performance

-          Knowledge of manufacturing or engineering advantageous

-          Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise between suppliers and internal departments within the business

-          Works well under pressure and to deadlines
