Experienced Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager required for a fast growing business in the Grimsby area.

This is a varied role that requires a high level of experience in vendor management, negotiation, rationalisation, inventory management and demand planning and forecasting. THE ROLE: As Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager, your duties will include but not be limited to:

*Manage the day to day purchasing function, insuring correct inventory is purchased at the best possible cost and quantities. This includes special orders.
*Act as a point of liaison between the vendors and the sales team, ensuring accurate prices and lead times are communicated
*Head weekly meeting with the sales and purchasing team to discuss the agenda for the week
*Accurately forecast and review the stock lines and inventory levels, making improvements where possible, whilst complying with the relevant H&S and Quality practices
*Actively manage the purchasing support, by delegating tasks and offering support and guidance
*Conduct various continuous improvement and inventory rationalisation projects to reduce the amount of stock being held on site, plus other cost saving strategies


THE CANDIDATE: The Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager will have the following attributes:

*Previous experience of purchasing and supply chain management within a distribution and manufacturing environment
*Previous experience of working with an ERP system
*A strong negotiator
*Excellent Leadership skills
*Inventory management and excellent planning and forecasting skills
*Experience of working closely with key vendors and managing large inventory
*Acute Excel report skills
*MCIPS qualification is preferred but not essential
