A great opportunity has arisen with a manufacturing company in Hull for a Company Accountant.

A great opportunity has arisen with a manufacturing company in Hull for a Company Accountant. Preferably qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA and with good all round skills, the position will report directly into the Finance Director and take day to day responsibility for the finance function.

THE ROLE

-Overseeing the work of two accounts assistants
-Reconciling the company bank accounts, company receivables and all the balance sheet items on a monthly basis
-Complete all the management information for Board use, maintain the fixed asset register, prepayments and accruals, monthly stock and WIP, daily cashflow management
-Oversee income forecasting, payment planning, compliance with all legal requirements of the finance function regarding HMRC, Companies House etc
-Quarterly VAT returns, preparing the monthly payroll information for external provider
-Preparation and filing of the monthly pension information
-Liaison with the auditors, company credit card account management, review of sales ledger credits and management of the petty cash
-Review and approve all new product quotations
-Organise and manage the monthly management team meeting


THE CANDIDATE

-You are an experienced company accountant, a good all rounder and will preferably have a background from the manufacturing sector.
-Ideally CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified and with excellent communication skills you have experience of managing a small team and providing the Board with the financial information required for the decision making process
-Previous experience of Sage is beneficial, competency in Excel is essential
-Strong analytical and investigative skills are required along with the ability to maintain tight financial control under the leadership of the Finance Director
