SENIOR COMMERCIAL ACCOUNTANT - INTERIM

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000

Location: HULL (with option for some hybrid working)

A 12 months FTC for a qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA Commercial Accountant has arisen in Hull to provide cover for a period of maternity leave. The role is with a major employer in the city and offers options for flexible and some hybrid working to assist those candidates in the wider geographic area.

THE ROLE:
- Work closely with the commercial finance team you will provide commercial accountancy support to leadership team members.
- Supporting and challenge business performance and planning, budgeting & forecasting.
- Provide relevant insight and challenge in determining and delivering the strategic business direction for our Support services (e.g. system investment decisions).
- Review and develop options / alternatives to improve business performance and bridge gaps between current and desired financial performance (in support of the forecasting / planning process).
- Assess commercial viability and challenge investment decisions, specifically including system investment and articulate financial risks and opportunities.
- Track business capex investments to ensure they are on track to time, cost and benefit realisation and support post-investment appraisal of business initiatives.
- Provide forward-looking analysis to the business to identify issues and guide development.
- Develop and provide innovative commercial solutions to maximise financial return.
- Drive the development and implementation of priority projects, identifying continual improvement opportunities.

THE CANDIDATE:
- You are a qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountant, preferably with previous experience in a similar role or with strong commercial focus in your skills set.
- Ideally you will have immediate availability or be available on relatively short notice (up to 4 weeks) and an interest in joining one of the most innovative and successful companies in the Hull and East Yorkshire area.
- In order to attract candidates from the wider geographic region, flexible and some hybrid working pattern can be offered, however some availability to attend meetings in the Hull office will be required.
- You have high attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with an analytical and investigative approach.

Based in the city centre there are good public transport links by bus and rail with just a short walk to the offices. For drivers the A63 is close by linking to the east and west of the city and onwards to the Humber Bridge and eastern M62 motorway. Due to the location, the company are looking to the wider Yorkshire/North Lincolnshire area and offering flexible and hybrid working patterns.
