Quality Assistant

Salary: £25,000

Location: Market Weighton

Our client is a food manufacturing business located in East Yorkshire who is looking to recruit a Quality Assistant to join their business. They are looking for an individual that loves a challenge, loves working in in a fast-paced environment and who wants to join a collaborative Quality function.

The role of a Quality Assistant is varied and will have responsibility to assess the quality of product through all stages of processing and despatch, ensuring quality and safety standards of products by efficient utilisation of all available resources. The main duties of the role will include:

*Working with the quality and operation teams and other functional areas to build effective relationships, develop trust and promote a food safety & quality first culture thus enabling the effective and sustainable transfer of food safety & quality systems to factory work streams.
*Ensuring products are compliant with all industry regulations for both product and packaging, within the UK and international
*Ensure compliance in production areas in line with the Quality Management System for process related manufacturing jobs / tasks.
*Check that standards set within the factory teams are adhered to through layered confirmation/visual assessments.
*Reviewing current quality documents and updating where necessary in line with new processes
*Completion of internal specifications and customer specifications
*Completion of customer questionnaires
*Carry out traceability exercises as per schedule or requested by customers
*Continuously improve standards - ensure new or revised customer requirements are complied with and reflected in factory systems
*Ensure HACCP in production areas is being implemented and documented records kept.

*Experience of QA in food manufacturing
*Level 2 HACCP
*Experience of BRC Audits
*Strong communication and passionate about food and quality.
*Competent IT Literacy - specifically Word and Excel
