Purchasing Manager

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + Attractive Package

Location: Beverley

Edwards & Pearce are proud to be partnering with highly successful and fast growing manufacturer within East Yorkshire, who is looking to recruit an experienced Purchasing Manager. This will be a vital role, taking a strategic approach to supplier management as well as sitting on the senior management team to develop new ideas and processes to help with the business growth.

As a Purchasing Manager, your duties will include but not be limited to:

New and existing supplier selection and development - including supplier assessment, audit reviews, benchmark, negotiation.
Analysis, negotiation and acceptance of quotations.
Evaluate, benchmark and make sourcing and commercial recommendations, advising decisions involving supply chain risks, price changes, supply shortages.
Seek cost reductions on an on-going basis.
Initiate and recommend improvements in the procurement systems.
To undertake and complete ongoing project work to achieve department objectives.
Work with Senior Management team to develop long term growth plans.
Implement and manage supplier SLA's, reporting material and product price moves.
Develop close working partnerships with key suppliers.
Develop product and supplier strategy - including contingency plans for product/supplier sourcing and strategic weaknesses.
Manage the team, ensuring day to day operational purchasing targets are met in line with manufacturing.

Strong negotiating, relationship building and communication skills.
Team management experience.
Ability to identify areas of improvement and implement them.
CIPS qualification would be desirable.
Previous experience of purchasing management within manufacturing is essential.
