Our client has been a leader in their field for the last 30 years. Due to continued business growth, they are now looking to expand the team with the recruitment of a Purchasing Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to join a professional and passionate company who wants to commit for the long term
THE ROLE:
Work alongside the purchasing team to place daily purchase orders within specific product categories.
Daily liaison with suppliers to obtain order confirmations and delivery dates
Daily review and action of outstanding purchase order report including updating system and liaising with sales admin team.
Responsibility to highlight and action any potential stock level and supply chain issues within your specific product categories.
Liaise with transport companies to book in deliveries and update system with dates accordingly.
Work closely with all internal departments to with regards to the administrative aspects of purchasing.
Involvement in supplier meetings
Assist in the sourcing of products.
THE CANDIDATE:
Have a good understanding of the supply chain and procurement process.
Be meticulous, organised with a strong attention to detail.
Have a professional manner and have excellent communication skills which they can adapt to all levels of clients
Be able to establish and maintain positive supplier relationships
Have a proactive and positive approach with strong analytical skills for facts and figures
A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role advantageous
Good problem-solving skills with the ability to identify cost efficient solutions to problems and experience in negotiation
Ability to work under pressure
Strong IT skills with previous experience of Microsoft Office packages
