Interim Transactional Finance Manager

Salary £30,000 - £45,000

Location: Northampton

Due to continued growth our client is looking to recruit a commercially astute Interim Transactional Finance Manager to join the team for a period of 6 months. Reporting to the Head of Finance you will be responsible for managing the day to day running of the AP, AR and Treasury function

THE ROLE:
Manage the day to day running of the AP, AR and Treasury function, promoting a culture of strong performance.
o Actively minimise Aged Debtor balance
o Actively optimise Aged Creditor balance
o Actively maximise Cash collection
Manage 2 direct reports (overall team of 8), reviewing their work and developing their skills.
o Purchase Ledger Manager
o Sales Ledger Supervisor
Review daily cash position.
Review credit control trackers.
Review weekly payment runs and make payments via online banking platforms (to include purchasing of foreign currency).
Present weekly cash position and aged debtor/creditor analysis to Head of Finance for review.
Produce and manage month end close timetable.
Ensure all relevant monthly balance sheet accounts are fully supported and reconciliations reviewed/signed off.
Prepare and submit monthly Intrastat report.
Ensure the AP/AR function is BRC compliant.
Develop, track, and share AR/AP KPI's.
Improve on current processes and efficiency of finance system.
Ensure that the financial risks facing the business are well understood and effectively mitigated.
Challenge assumptions and decision-making as appropriate, providing guidance on any proposed changes.
Provide support to the Commercial, Operational and Technical Teams.
Assist in the year end audit.
Undertake any other adhoc duties required by the Head of Finance.

THE CANDIDATE:
Proven experience in a similar finance management role with a strong background in managing the day-to-day duties of a busy AP/AR department.
Excellent leadership and people development skills.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to highlight and challenge relevant issues.
Strong systems literacy, advanced MS Excel skills, good MS Word, Outlook & PowerPoint skills.
Can demonstrate resilience under pressure.
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to effectively prioritise work.
Be a collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience in dealing with multi-currency transactions.
Ability to manage large amounts of data.
Willing to adapt and take on new challenges, demonstrating innovation and initiative to suggest new ideas or ways of working.
