HR Advisor (HR Business Partner level)

Salary: £32,000 (full time maternity cover role) 6-8 months

Location: West Yorkshire based (Wakefield)

Our client is a highly successful long established large manufacturing company manufacturing products for blue-chip customers.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in an busy established operational HR team covering maternity leave for one of their key HR Officers. The HR Officer level role is a full on operational HR generalist role working closely with the management team across Operations, Production, Supply Chain and all Head Office functions. The ideal HR candidate will be able to 'hit the floor running' and excel in a busy full on manufacturing environment.

THE ROLE:
This role is a 'hands on' being 'visible around the site position, working and liaising constantly with the Plant Management team on all employee matters, advising Managers and staff on people issues including performance management. Making sure you are keeping up with any new legislation and changes and aware of the impact this could have on the site. The role covers all ER, Disciplinaries, Performance Management, dealing with Unions, record keeping and compliance, recruiting and selection, facilitating and delivering development to junior management level, all operational day-to-day HR duties, delivering overall Best Practice, involvement with on going HR projects and supporting and working with the wider UK HR teams, Inductions, payroll liaising, absence and overtime management, working on site closely with all the management team.

THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a 'hands on' operational HR generalist role working as part of a busy operations management team in a manufacturing company.
Excellent up-to-date employment law knowledge and experience.
Previously worked in an HR team and delivered a full operational HR service to a large manufacturing site
Union experience would be an advantage
Worked supporting payroll and understands time attendance systems
CIPD 5 (ideally)
At least 3 years Operational HR generalist exposure in manufacturing or distribution
Good with IT systems (Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
Strong communicator
Excellent personality and enjoys working close to Plant Management and being visible around the site
An experience ER HR generalist who can hit the floor running and build immediate credibility across the site
