TEMPORARY / INTERIM / DESIGN ENGINEER / DRAUGHTSMAN

LOCATION: DONCASTER, BARNSLEY, WAKEFIELD

SALARY AND BENEFITS: £32,000 PRO RATA

COMPANY INFORMATION:

YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

· Degree/HND, or equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering.
· Experience in an engineering product design capacity (essential).
· Working knowledge of CAD Autodesk Inventor Simulation Suite 2009/10
(2D and 3D Applications).
· Working knowledge of MathCAD 14.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2003/2007 and Adobe Acrobat 9.
· Working Knowledge of FEA software (Abaqus or Inventor Simulation).
· The ability to comprehend and interpret International Standards and customer specifications.
· The ability to work to time constraints and varying priorities.
· Communication and interpersonal skills appropriate for liaising with customers, suppliers and classification societies.
· An aptitude for attention to detail.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Carrying out design calculations in static, fatigue and FEA modes.
· Preparing detailed and schematic engineering drawings for suppliers.
· Preparing assembly drawings and instructions for use by Operations during manufacture.
· Preparing assembly drawings and instructions for use by personnel and clients during installation.
· Preparing concept and feasibility designs and drawings to support Sales and clients.
· Liaising with clients and third parties where design approval is required.
· Ensuring that comprehensive records of design calculations and drawings are maintained, including amendments and approvals.
· Providing product engineering support and advice as required.


ROLE INFORMATION:

- As a temporary Design Engineer you will support the engineering function as required. The placement is expected to run for approximately 3 months.
