SUMMARY:
My client are a leading engineering business who operate on a global basis. At present, they currently have an opportunity for a strategic purchasing manager.
JOB INFORMATION:
Leading a team of buyers and expeditors, this role requires a forward thinking strategic supply chain proffesional to provide effective solutions within procurement. Taking responsibility for cost reduction, inventory and stock turn, this role is instumental to the smooth running of the business.
The dimensions of this role are to effectively train and develop the team, agreeing targets and motivating a team that delivers. Strategicially this role exists to develop the project plan in relation to improving supplier relationships, acheiving year on year reductions, improving delivery, quality and lead times.
You will be required to improve product availability, new product introductions and enable continuous imrovement as a way of doing business.
PREFFERED EDUCATION:
MCIPS or equivilant
PERSON SPECIFICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
The right candidate will have been in a senior procurement management role with responsibility for a team.
You will have a forward thinking approach to purchasing and excellent commercial understanding.
A background in project/change management is advantageous, along with the ability to source from low cost countries.
The right candidate must be stable in their career history and have prooved their commitment to a business.
